***Tsali Campground is close access to Nantahala and Tuckaseegee Rivers and awesome mountain biking trails right at Tsali
***We will have sites at Tsali campground on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23. Reception is pretty bad there, so you may need to just get there and look for us. I will share as much as I can ahead of time. Registration will close Thursday evening at 5PM.
***This is not a training trip, but a group of like minded paddlers looking to have a good time - no set schedule.
***Rachel and Gunny are taking the shredder down the Nanty on Saturday. We are looking to have a fun time, and can offer intel on any rapids. But Gunny will not be in his kayak and unable to work you like crazy! Feel free to arrange your own float if you have a different agenda. We will be running the "standard Nanty run". If you are looking to run the upper Nanty you you'll need to arrange that yourself - there may be interest so just poke around a little.
***Tsali Campground is located on Fontana Lake, with a boat ramp a short walk or drive from the camping area. This would be great for touring folks as well!
***Bring a mountain bike if you like biking - the trails there are FANTASTIC! And I hear there may be a few avoiding the crowds of GAF and hitting the trails.
***Be prepared for some confusion and chaos..... this is not a super organized event - just an attempt to offer some camaraderie and good times among the club. Bring a beverage and sit back and enjoy the company!
***Saturday night we will provide a meat stew and a vegetarian chili. Please bring a side to share (not just potato chips!). Also please bring your own plates/bowls/silverware/drinks.
***Cost is $20/person to help offset the cost of securing the sites and any incidentals. Register for the even at www.paddlechota.org
***Sites are pretty small and not sure how many can accommodate an RV.
***PLEASE be sure you have filled out an insurance waiver this year. If you have been to paddle school or any training trips you have probably already done so.
***You can contact Rachel Butzler with questions, but registering on this site is what will allow us to get a good head count.
