The 35th Ijams River Rescue is March 9, 2024 (severe weather date is March 16)! This event is a great way to get out, get active, and clean up the Tennessee River and its creeks and streams to make the Greater Knoxville Area an even better place to live, work, and play!
This event brings together hundreds of volunteers to remove between 10-40 tons of trash from the Tennessee River’s shorelines and its tributary creeks. In 2022, about 557 volunteers removed 21+ tons of garbage from 44 sites!
Outdoor cleanups are a great way to give back and get active. Everyone who volunteers will receive a t-shirt featuring a wonderful fox design by Stephen Lyn Bales.
