We will meet at 10 AM. The location will be provided after you sign up.
The Tuck is a beginner-friendly run with much warmer water than the Hiwassee and lots of places to work on skills like ferries, peel-outs, and surfing - so this is a great opportunity to try things! Experience necessary to determine suitability:
This is a great skill developing class I-II river. Good attitude and ability to have fun while paying attention to safety are the required experiences. There are fantastic areas to work your skills, such as eddy turns, peel outs, and surfing.
Required gear: Coast guard-approved PFD, whitewater canoe or kayak with floatation, skirt for your kayak, water sports helmet, paddle, appropriate clothing for the water’s temperature, closed toes shoes (no water sandals), a water bottle that clips into your boat.
Bring your lunch in a dry bag.
Registration opens the Saturday prior to the paddling date, and closes Thursday at 10pm. You are welcome to email the trip leader, connect with them via Facebook Messenger, or email the Club for more information about the river.
Once you register, make sure you receive an automatic email with exact meet up time, location, and any other special details.
