Monday Night Roll Practice

River Runner, Playboat, and Touring Kayak or Canoe Indoor Winter Roll Practice

Where: Clinton Community Center

Address: 101 South Hicks Street, Clinton, TN 37716 

When: 7:00pm to 8:25 pm pool time;

Emphasis added: Boats, gear, and people all must be out of the facility by 8:45pm.

Cost: $5 each session for Chota members; $15 non-members

Minimum skill to participate

Be able to perform a wet exit from your kayak.  This is a critical safety skill for using a kayak skirt and we will happily show you how to do it.

When you arrive

Clinton Community Center has provided an outside hose to rinse your boat, required.

Enter and exit the building through the back of the building. There is a gate near the pool that will be unlocked for pool sessions.

Check-in

Look for a Chota member to check you in and collect the session fee if paying cash.

If you paid online, please still check in so we can track usage trends.

You may pay for roll practice ahead online or cash in person.

Additional Information

Sign the once annual waiver via the Chota homepage. The new batch of waivers must be signed starting January 1, 2026.

There is space for touring kayakers to practice a few at a time practice, too!

There are no instructors at the roll practices, however, bring your mentor or learn from everyone else!

1. Ensure your $20 annual membership is current, or formally join Chota Canoe Club by paying your first annual dues. Join or renew Chota Canoe Club membership
