Wilderness First Aid — Hands-On, High-Adventure Training

This course is ideal for boaters of all styles, including everything between whitewater and touring. It will be 16 hours of instruction and includes lectures, hands on application, and CPR. Miki, our instructor, is a Chota Canoe Club member, an ACA L3 certified instructor, nurse, and long time boater.

Step into a dynamic, ECSI‑accredited Wilderness First Aid course designed for people who want more than lectures — they want to practice saving lives. This immersive class uses real outdoor sports gear, lifelike props, and rescue dummies to recreate the kinds of serious backcountry injuries you hope you’ll never face but will be ready for.

With two experienced instructors guiding the way, you’ll learn essential wilderness medical skills, including CPR, through realistic scenarios that challenge your decision‑making and teamwork. Participants help shape the training by suggesting the injuries and situations they most want to practice, making every session uniquely relevant.

Held indoors for comfort and focus, this course keeps the adventure spirit alive while ensuring a safe, controlled environment for up to 24 participants. Expect hands-on learning, creative problem‑solving, and the confidence that comes from truly getting your hands dirty.
